CIB-P-Kits – Identification of plant specific DNA including DNA isolation
CIB-P kits allow the isolation and identification of plant-specific DNA in food, feed and various other products. DNA isolation is based on an optimized buffer system for the digestion of plant material, followed by purification of the DNA with silica columns. The high-yield of DNA allows very sensitive PCR analysis down to a detection limit of 5-10 ppm or 5-10 DNA copies. Therefore the CIB-P-Kits are ideal for the identification of allergenic ingredients.
Plant specific PCR fragments become synthesized only if the products contain the PCR capable DNA. The identification of specific PCR fragments is carried out without further investigation steps directly after the PCR in agarose gel by comparing the sample synthesized in parallel with amplification control PCR amplification. Specific PCR fragments are synthesized only if the samples contain the DNA. With the DNA of other food-related plant species, no PCR fragments will be synthesized. A confirmation of the PCR using restriction cleavage is possible.
